I am a fluently bilingual clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) and Québec (OPQ).
I have been working for over 30 years in the field of interpersonal relationships where I began my career as a counselor and wilderness guide with adolescent boys with serious learning disabilities.
My approach
As a clinical psychologist, I have specialized in Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT) for individuals and couples. This approach is an empirically tested and powerful intervention model that helps individuals find the traction they seek to move forward in their lives, and for couples to repair rifts and build strong loving bonds. I also use cognitive behavioral (CBT), mindfulness and experiential interventions.
My specializations
In my work with blended families, I have developed an innovative approach integrating systemic, attachment and emotionally focused strategies to help couples and families navigate the moving waters of blended family life.
Being at the forefront of men’s mental health has allowed me to develop innovative community-based programs for men and their families, and gender-sensitive psychotherapy approaches that resonate with men.
Supervision, training, consulting
I am a recognized clinical supervisor for the College of Psychologists of Québec and Ontario and facilitate insight oriented supervision groups for mental health professionals in the Ottawa-Gatineau area. I also offer individual supervision.
As a recognized trainer for the College of Psychologists of Québec, I offer accredited workshops for mental health professionals who wish to deepen their understanding and broaden their skills in working with blended families.
As a public speaker on mental health issues, I have had the opportunity to engage with many audiences across Canada.
Finally, I consult and provide training for private, federal, provincial and community organizations on mental health issues in the workplace.
